Speak It Into Existence
How you start your day typically sets your tone for the rest of the day. Wake up late & feeling rushed, then you typically feel flustered & behind for the rest of the day. Feeling irritated & stressed out first thing in the morning, then you typically are pissy for the rest of the day. Start the day off with something good, then you typically have a pretty great day.
Your mood, your attitude, your emotions.... they impact every part of your life... including your business.
One of the biggest things that has helped me is not just writing my goals, but saying my goals out loud. Every single day while I'm getting ready in the bathroom I look myself in the mirror (not in a creepy weird way), and I tell myself out loud what my goals are for the day. I commit to myself that those are the goals I am going to achieve today. Whether it's a sales quota, spending time business planning, reaching out to businesses for potential partnerships, etc... by saying out loud what my goal is I am committing to that goal.
Then throughout the day I check myself. I literally talk to myself and continue to remind myself of my goals & where I'm at with those specific goals.
By verbally committing to someone (even if it is myself), I am holding myself accountable to achieve what I set out to do for the day. They don't have to be big goals. There don't have to be several goals. I mean, today my goals were to post at least 5 new designs, purchase blanks for two branded business orders, & post a Tip of the Day. I knew I had a busy day today with other commitments, but I know I have to take intentional steps in my business every single day, so I identified goals that were realistic and fit into the restricted time that I had for the day so they were still achievable.
Now it's the end of the day, I've achieved all of my goals, and I'm ending my business day feeling accomplished because I checked off every one of my goals. And because I am ending my day feeing accomplished, tomorrow is more likely to start off on a positive note.
